Making Math and Music Fun and Accessible

I am a current college student double majoring in Mathematical Sciences and Music at Barnard College of Columbia University. My strong academic background in both subjects allows me to bring a thoughtful, interdisciplinary approach to tutoring. I have taken a wide range of advanced math courses—including calculus, linear algebra, statistics, and differential equations—as well as rigorous music coursework in theory, aural skills, and composition. This dual focus not only sharpens my analytical and creative thinking, but also enables me to explain abstract ideas in relatable and intuitive ways.

I have been tutoring since high school, working with middle and high school students on math and music subjects both in-person and online. In math, I focus on building conceptual understanding and problem-solving strategies, not just memorization. I adjust my pace and methods to match each student's learning style, incorporating visual aids, real-life examples, and plenty of encouragement. In music, I’ve helped students with everything from sight reading and rhythm to harmony and ear training, often drawing from my own experiences as a performer, composer, and music director for various ensembles and theater productions.

My tutoring has spanned one-on-one sessions, group enrichment classes, and mentoring in academic and extracurricular settings. I truly enjoy helping students gain confidence and see their own potential, and I take pride in creating a supportive environment where questions are always welcome. Whether preparing for an exam, audition, or just trying to keep up in class, I’m here to help students reach their goals.
