Hi there! My name is Claudia and I am originally from Asheville, North Carolina. I earned my undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2020. I am now a fifth-year MD/PhD student at Columbia University, currently completing my PhD in immunology as part of the dual-degree program. My path through college and graduate school has given me a robust foundation in the sciences, as well as an appreciation for the challenges students face at various stages in their academic journeys. I bring these experiences into every tutoring session to offer thoughtful, personalized support that meets students where they are.
I first began tutoring as a college student, where I worked as a teaching assistant and peer tutor for general chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry for several years. Since starting medical school in 2021, I’ve continued tutoring for a wide range of STEM subjects, working with students from middle school through college. Additionally, I offer support for MCAT preparation and medical school admissions, including guidance on personal statements, application strategy, and interview prep. I believe that mentorship and individualized support are essential to student success, and I strive to build confidence, independence, and curiosity in every student I work with.
