Greetings!
My name is Gabriel Antonio S, and I'm a recently PhD graduate from Columbia University who specializes in the history of East Asia, Latin America and the U.S. My personal research is on the history of global manufacturing in Taiwan and the U.S.-Mexico border (where I am originally from!), but I also do a lot of research on social movements and economic history.
Next year I will be teaching as a postdoctoral fellow at Chinese University of Hong Kong, but until then I'm looking to tutor High School, College, Graduate and Adult students on all things pertaining to World History, U.S. History and essay writing. Aside from my career as a published academic, I also publish frequently in non-academic outlets ranging from Vice Magazine and Wired to The Drift and Spectre.
I have been working in classrooms for over 10 years, and have worked as both a lead instructor and a Teacher's Assistant in undergraduate courses for over six years. I have a lot of experience helping learners aged 17 to 65 become better writers and excel in their coursework. I work better with older learners, but I also have experience working with students in High School. This summer I also worked as Reader/Grader for the AP World History exam, so I have a good sum of experience evaluating high-mark AP essays.
