Hi, I'm Stuart, a semi-retired entrepreneur and mathematician based in the West Village of Manhattan. I was a co-founder of two mobile gaming companies that were acquired and I'm excited to be returning to mathematics teaching and research. This past year I served as an Adjunct Professor at The Cooper Union where I taught Linear Algebra and Probability to engineering majors.
Prior to my work building start-ups, I was on the mathematics faculty at Wesleyan University in Connecticut in the aughts, and at the University of Toronto, and I taught several courses as an Instructor at Berkeley and at Yale where I did my graduate studies (I hold an Ph.D. in pure math from Berkeley and an M.A. in Economics from Yale). I won the university-wide Outstanding Graduate Instructor Award as a PhD student at Berkeley in the late 90's. My research has appeared in top journals, in the fields of mathematical logic and set theory.
I'm interested in taking on a small set of students this summer, ideally for in-person sessions in Manhattan (or neighboring areas) but online would work as well. Group sessions could be a possibility. Any level or subject within pure and applied mathematics or analytical / quantitative test prep possible.
