Hi! My name is Amelia, a junior at Brown University studying neuroscience on the pre-medical path with the ultimate goal of becoming a neurosurgeon. I graduated from the High School for Math Science and Engineering, the #1 high school in New York state according to the US News and World Report. I simultaneously graduated from Manhattan School of Music Precollege on the Dean’s List with a degree in piano performance, winning numerous piano competitions. With extensive experience in research, clinical work, test prep, and science education, I specialize in tutoring biology, neuroscience, SAT prep, and pre-med guidance. I am also passionate about helping students find research, clinical, or volunteering opportunities to explore medicine and become a more competitive college/medical school applicant! As a trained Peer Advisor at Brown for incoming freshmen, I specialize in connecting students to opportunities tailored to their goals.
At Brown University, I teach neuroscience lessons to students from elementary to high school. I am an Instructor and the CoHead Coordinator for Brown’s chapter of the Brain Bee, a high school neuroscience teaching program. I also volunteer with Brain Waves Rhode Island where I teach science to younger kids through fun and engaging activities! I have received As (Brown’s highest grade) in Neurobiology, Foundational Biology, Cell and Molecular Biology, Calculus II, Neurogenetics, and more.
My research experience began in the Benson Lab at Mount Sinai where my original research poster was featured in Mount Sinai’s Annual Neuroscience Retreat. I now work in the Kaun Lab at Brown University’s Department of Neuroscience. My clinical experience ranges from shadowing physicians to earning my National Registry EMT certification.
Whether you're looking to boost your grades, prepare for college, connect with research/clinical opportunities, or explore a future in medicine, I’d love to help you succeed!
