Hi! My name is Amelia, a junior at Brown University studying neuroscience on the pre-medical path with the ultimate goal of becoming a neurosurgeon. I graduated from the High School for Math Science and Engineering, the #1 high school in New York state according to the US News and World Report. I simultaneously graduated from Manhattan School of Music Precollege on the Dean’s List with a degree in piano performance, winning numerous piano competitions. With extensive experience in research, clinical work, test prep, and science education, I specialize in tutoring biology, neuroscience, SAT prep, and pre-med guidance. I am also passionate about helping students find research, clinical, or volunteering opportunities to explore medicine and become a more competitive college/medical school applicant! As a trained Peer Advisor at Brown for incoming freshmen, I specialize in connecting students to opportunities tailored to their goals.

At Brown University, I teach neuroscience lessons to students from elementary to high school. I am an Instructor and the CoHead Coordinator for Brown’s chapter of the Brain Bee, a high school neuroscience teaching program. I also volunteer with Brain Waves Rhode Island where I teach science to younger kids through fun and engaging activities! I have received As (Brown’s highest grade) in Neurobiology, Foundational Biology, Cell and Molecular Biology, Calculus II, Neurogenetics, and more.

My research experience began in the Benson Lab at Mount Sinai where my original research poster was featured in Mount Sinai’s Annual Neuroscience Retreat. I now work in the Kaun Lab at Brown University’s Department of Neuroscience. My clinical experience ranges from shadowing physicians to earning my National Registry EMT certification.

Whether you're looking to boost your grades, prepare for college, connect with research/clinical opportunities, or explore a future in medicine, I’d love to help you succeed!

EMT/ NREMT

I am a National Registry certified EMT who completed EMT training and certification through Aura Prep in the summer of 2024. I completed over 185 hours of coursework and clinical experience, including ambulance ride-alongs and practical skills rotations, and passed the NREMT exam on my first attempt. My preparation covered key areas such as medical and trauma assessments, airway management, vital signs, pharmacological interventions, and emergency procedures, all aligned with current NREMT standards.
Neuroscience

Neuroscience

As a Neuroscience major at Brown University, I have taken Foundational Neuroscience, Neurobiology, Neural Systems, and Neurogenetics with top grades. I have also taken classes like Cell Molecular Biology, 2 semesters of general chemistry, organic chemistry, and physics! I conduct research in Kaun Lab at Brown University's Department of Neuroscience, and have experience reading primary literature, presenting, and creating posters!
Piano

Piano

I am a classically trained pianist with a piano degree from Manhattan School of Music Precollege where I graduated on the Dean's List. Growing up as the daughter of two professional pianists who were trained at Juilliard, I have received intense piano training my whole life. Beginning at age 5, I majored in Piano at one of the most competitive music grade schools at the Special Music School at Kaufman Center in New York City. I am a prize winner in the Puigcerda Music Festival 2019 Piano Competition and the Merkin Hall 2017 Spring Composer Fest Winners Concert. Through different competitions and concerts, I have performed at iconic venues like Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, and others.
Voice (Music)

Voice (Music)

I have over 13 years of formal vocal training and choir experience, having studied as a Piano Major at the Manhattan School of Music Precollege and attended the Special Music School at Kaufman Center. I have trained extensively in breath control, sight reading, ear training, and pitch refinement through both private vocal instruction and ensemble work. As a performer, I have sung in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and Merkin Hall, as well as in numerous concerts throughout New York City. I am comfortable teaching a wide range of vocal styles, from classical repertoire to pop, and have experience performing both a cappella and with accompaniment.
