Hey! I’m Nick, a Columbia University student majoring in Computer Science and Economics, with focuses in architecture, urban planning, and philosophy. I’ve worked as a software engineer, product designer, and financial analyst, but tutoring has been a constant passion of mine since high school. I first began tutoring calculus and biology for middle and high schoolers, and later offered ACT/SAT prep and college advising to family friends. I've helped students score 1600/36 on the SAT/ACT, and have mentored students into Harvard, MIT, and Princeton.

What I love about tutoring is the ability to make students feel confident in subjects that once felt overwhelming. I focus on breaking complex topics down into clear, intuitive steps and adapting to each student's learning style. Whether it’s walking through derivatives or unpacking ACT reading passages, I emphasize strategies that build both understanding and independence.

I've worked in both one-on-one and in small group sessions, tailoring lessons around my students' needs—whether they’re aiming for test score gains, struggling with homework, or planning their college applications. I also draw on my experiences working in education tech and urban research to make learning real-world, creative, and empowering.

Above all, I’m a patient and encouraging tutor who believes that learning should be collaborative and low-stress. I’d love to hear about your goals and figure out how we can get there together. Let’s get started!

Exceptional Guidance from a Dedicated Tutor

I’ve been struggling with college level essays and grammar for a while, but working with Nick made it feel so much more manageable. He was incredibly patient and supportive, and for the first time, I felt encouraged that I could improve. What stood out most was how he took the time to explain every correction clearly, and never rushed. He always made sure I truly understood before moving on. It was clear he genuinely cared about my progress and that made all the difference.
