Although new to Wyzant, I have 5+ years of tutoring experience across different platforms like AoPS (Art of Problem Solving) and NCVPS. Since 2020, I have worked as a Teaching Assistant and Grader at AoPS, with extensive experience in tutoring math coursework ranging from Prealgebra up to Calculus as well as other coursework in computer science, chemistry, physics, etc. I can also assist in preparation for both math and reading/English sections of standardized tests like the SAT/ACT, as I have previous experience using learning & test-taking strategies to score highly on these tests in high school.
I believe that fully understanding the underlying key concepts and grasping the "why" behind a solution is the best way to improve test scores & grades long-term as opposed to rote memorization, and I enjoying helping students improve their learning strategies & study habits.
