Hi there! My name is Makda, and I am an experienced mentor/tutor. Former mentees of mine have received full ride scholarships to internationally acclaimed graduate programs, and seen significant improvements in their performance at school. I hold a M.A. in Human Rights from Columbia University, where I was the Editor-in-Chief for my institute's student journal. I have extensive writing, proofreading, and editing experience. Since Columbia I have worked with various nonprofits, at which I collaborated with activists from around the world to design and produce special advocacy projects. I also mentor students from Ukraine that have been affected by the Russian invasion as a volunteer. I really enjoy tutoring and have received very positive feedback from all the students I've worked with before. I was a KUMON kid, if anyone is familiar, so when it comes to k-6/algebra 1 math, I have tons of tips and tricks for making those problems make a bit more sense. While my tutoring experience is mainly related to reading and writing I am also very comfortable with a variety of subjects! I am also happy to answer any questions to give you a better sense of my experience/expertise!
