I am an Emmy nominated composer with over 25 years experience writing music for television and film. I have a Bachelor of Music (1987) and a Master of Music (1989) from Manhattan School of Music where I studied under John Corigliano and Ludmila Ulehla, among others.
I have been teaching students privately for over 10 years. Each student has their own individual learning request and needs. I have taught film scoring, classical music composition, song writing, orchestration, music production and music technology to name a few. I have worked with budding composers wishing to hear their music through a computer. I have worked with seasoned pros wishing to up their game in the overall sound of their compositions. Some students need help understanding their DAW (digital audio workstations) of which I have great knowledge of including Pro Tools, Digital Performer, Garage band, Sibelius and Logic to name a few. I usually work one on one in my east side studio. The student sometimes brings their computer, or uses mine. I have worked with grade school through high school aged students on many different projects from Hip Hop/ Rap to Full classical orchestra. One student wanted to work on a rock song while another wanted to work on music notation for a piece they wrote for cello. One high school student worked on film-scoring a Marvel style action cue for full orchestra! It's always wonderful to see the excitement when a student realizes their musical ideas and gets to hear it! Whether you're just starting out in music or a seasoned pro, I can show you what's possible!
