Hi there! My name is Ishi, and if you’re reading this, you’ve already taken the first step to becoming stronger, smarter, and more confident in your studies. Whether it’s ACT or SAT prep, public speaking skills, algebra, science or more, my personalized lesson plans will help not only improve your grades, but leave you with a deeper sense of satisfaction, confidence, and excitement in your studies.
As a student, I always felt most comfortable with teachers and professors who focused less on grades, and more on building a thorough sense of comfort, passion, and understanding for a subject. I remember feeling like I wasn’t always “naturally good” at subjects, but these scholars helped me realize that everyone’s method of learning is different, and that more than innate knowledge, it is drive, discipline, and dedication that bring success. This is the mindset I have brought into my tutoring sessions for the past decade.
I am a graduate from the acclaimed New York University, with a degree in politics and astrophysics. I am currently working towards law school, with an aim to fight for underprivileged communities. I have an extensive background in test prep, with a PSAT score that granted me a National Merit Scholar status, a 35/36 on the ACT, and a 99th percentile LNAT score. I am also a published author, EMT, and have worked for Cornell Law School and the United Nations.
I have extensive tutoring experience, having begun working as a tutor in middle school, and continuing through college. Students appreciate my hands-on style, my dedication to fostering a personal relationship, and my focus on not only improving grades and test scores, but developing a life-long passion for learning and academia. I have taught both in classroom settings as a research assistant at Cornell Law School, as well as one-on-one with students, and in small groups. I specialize in middle and high school students, focusing on test prep, algebra, science, history, and English.
