During my 33-year career as a professional medical writer, I taught basic human physiology at the Physician Assistant Program at Long Island University in the 1980s, and math, science, and writing at a private middle school in California in the 1990s.
In the mid-1980s, I had three short books published by Julian Messner, as part of their "Understanding Disease" series for middle-school students. In 2000, my book "Mathematical Concepts in Clinical Science" was published by Prentice Hall for entry-level students in clinical training programs.
I retired from medical writing in 2013, though I still do some pro bono work for physician-authors. Obviously, I am a lot older than most tutors, but I have a lot of experience and talent in teaching and tutoring.
