Hello! My name is Sarah, and I'm a graduate student at Columbia University. I majored in Cell and Molecular Biology at Barnard College, and I spent three years in college as a TA for biology courses. I am especially passionate about anatomy and physiology, but my course experience ranges from biochemistry to global ecology and everything in between.

My top priority is creating a judgment-free space in which students feel comfortable exploring material they might not feel as confident in. I always appreciate student feedback, both positive and constructive, so I can tailor each session to meet your individual needs.

My tutoring style is built around a “connect-the-dots” approach, helping you link what you already know to new material. Even if you feel completely lost or unsure where to begin, that’s okay! We’ll identify your starting point and build from there so you can feel confident at every step. We can also explore study methods and test-taking strategies that work for you, helping you make the most of your study time and tackle challenging questions with confidence.

To help me prepare for our sessions, I greatly appreciate any course materials you can share ahead of time, including course syllabi, lecture slides, reading assignments, or any other class resources you have available.

I look forward to meeting you!

Zoology

Zoology

I was a pre-veterinary student throughout college and got my bachelor's in cell biology. I took courses in animal behavior, animal physiology, and ecology. I volunteered with several veterinary clinics, including a wildlife rehabilitation center, and I wrote my senior thesis on bird migration through cities. I ultimately pivoted toward a different career path, but I still have a love of all things animal-related. Other coursework: Biology I and II, genetics, microbiology, development, evolution, general chemistry, organic chemistry, neuroscience. I TA'd Introductory Biology for three years.
