Hello! My name is Sarah, and I'm a graduate student at Columbia University. I majored in Cell and Molecular Biology, and I spent three years in college as a TA for biology courses. I am especially passionate about anatomy and physiology, but my course experience ranges from biochemistry to global ecology and everything in between.
What you can expect from an initial appointment: I start by asking about the course material and your current level of understanding. I'll also ask about past coursework and study techniques so that I get a better idea of how you learn best. Even if you feel completely lost and/or have not found any study strategies that have worked, that's okay! We will find your baseline and work from there so that you feel confident every step of the way. We'll also discuss goals and strategies you can use when studying on your own to maximize your study time to help you learn most effectively and efficiently.
In order to best prepare for our sessions, I highly appreciate any course materials you can send prior to our initial appointment, including but not limited to course syllabi, lecture slides, reading assignments, or any other class resource you have available.
I look forward to meeting you!
