Joaquin B is a passionate and versatile artist recognized for his exceptional flute performances in classical and jazz genres. With extensive experience across various musical and non-musical roles, he has proven himself as a capable leader, inspiring those around him to achieve their best.

Joaquin B is a passionate and versatile artist recognized for his exceptional flute performances in classical and jazz genres. With extensive experience across various musical and non-musical roles, he has proven himself as a capable leader, inspiring those around him to achieve their best.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts, where he excelled academically. Throughout his journey, Joaquin has showcased open-mindedness, sociability, and trustworthiness, fostering strong relationships within diverse communities. He has studied under renowned flutists like Emma Gerstein, Eugenia Moliner, and Sarpay Ozcagatay, a jazz improvisation expert. Additionally, he has participated in masterclasses led by distinguished artists such as Stefán Ragnar Höskuldsson, Demarre McGill, and John Bruce Yeh.

Joaquin has achieved notable accomplishments and received recognition for his talent. He served as Principal Bass Flute in the National Flute Orchestra of Ecuador and has been awarded the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation Scholarship twice. He has also earned accolades such as the "Outstanding Soloist Award" at both the Notre Dame Jazz Festival and Elmhurst Jazz Festival in 2022 and 2023. Furthermore, he secured first place in the National Flute Association’s Jazz Flute Masterclass Competition in 2023 and second place in the Jazz Artist Competition in 2024.

His creative arrangements have received airtime on WDCB 90.9 Chicago Jazz Station. Joaquin has held significant roles, including Principal Flute in the Chicago College of Performing Arts Symphony Orchestra, captivating audiences with improvisations in various ensembles. Currently, he is a member of the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation Alumni Network, where he mentors college musicians and collaborates with a wide network of artists globally.
