Hi! I’m Ian, a Dermatology Research Fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering and a student at Weill Cornell Medical School. I’ve received top awards for academic excellence, professionalism, and clinical practice in medical school, and I scored a 528 on the MCAT and in the top 1% on Step 2.

I graduated summa cum laude from the University of Minnesota with a major in Genetics and a minor in Psychology, where I first started tutoring biology, biochemistry, and chemistry. Now, I offer expert tutoring in MCAT prep, biology, biochemistry, genetics, psychology, and chemistry at the university level.

With a structured approach that combines deep comprehension and targeted test-taking strategies, I help students excel. I typically teach online but can meet motivated students in Manhattan.
Prior to medical school, I attended University of Minnesota (Go Gophers!) for undergrad where I graduated Summa Cum Laude in the Honors Program with a major in Genetics, Cell Biology, and Development and minor in Psychology. While at the University of Minnesota, I tutored my fellow classmates in biology, biochemistry, and chemistry. Since then, I have continued to tutor students in the following at up to University level: Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Psychology, and Chemistry. My primary expertise as a tutor is as an MCAT tutor. As one of the lucky few to have scored a perfect on this test, I bring a methodological approach to test taking that focuses first on comprehension and then on the test taking skills that are crucial to bring your score to the next level. I have typically taught online, but would be open to in-person tutoring for motivated students in Manhattan.

Reviews

Knowledgeable and helpful tutor.

Ian tutored my daughter for AP biology. He was well prepared and helpfully reviewed concepts from class while also teaching her new material. Ian assigned some homework for my daughter to complete before there next session and she looks forward to continuing to work with him.
