I am currently pursuing an MD-PhD at Mount Sinai, where I completed my PhD in neuroscience last year, focusing on the molecular mechanisms of heroin addiction. Throughout my academic journey, I have gained a wealth of experience in both coursework and standardized testing, along with an extensive toolkit of study strategies that have helped me achieve success. Each level of my education required new adaptations, and as a result I graduated with an above 4.0 GPA throughout high school, college, and graduate school, as well as a 525 on the MCAT.

My approach is two-fold, addressing both content and process. I firmly believe that anyone can master challenging material when provided with the right tools and a teacher who is committed to understanding where the student is struggling. Often, seemingly insurmountable hurdles have simple solutions that come from recognizing and catering to an individual’s learning style. I will work with you to understand your study process and how to optimize it so you can confidently tackle not only the concepts we discuss but all your classes going forward. Whether it is flashcards, outlining, testing strategies, or research methods, I will help you maximize your potential for learning with lessons you can take away long after our last session.

In my undergraduate studies at Columbia and throughout graduate school, I have been a teaching assistant for multiple biology, psychology, and neuroscience courses. These roles helped me develop the ability to connect with students and simplify complex concepts in ways that create a solid foundation for deeper understanding. My students have consistently provided positive feedback, highlighting my ability to explain difficult ideas clearly and relate course material to real-life experiences to make learning intuitive and long-lasting. Every time I see the concept click for my student it kindles my passion for helping them overcome challenges and succeed in their learning. I would be honored to be part of your learning journey.

Approved Subjects

Biochemistry

Biochemistry

I am an MD-PhD student at Mount Sinai and finished my PhD in neuroscience last year. Before that I graduated pre-med with a major in neuroscience and behavior and concentration in chemistry from Columbia University, and received A’s in every class, including a perfect score on the biochem section of the MCAT. I have extensive TA and tutoring experience and would love to share a systematic approach that will help you conquer any biochem concept.
Biology

Biology

I am a medical student with a PhD in Neuroscience. I graduated summa cum laude from Columbia University including As in all premed requirements.
Biostatistics

Biostatistics

I have a PhD in Neuroscience and took biostats courses at every level of school starting with AP Stats, college level stats with calculus, and graduate level biostatistics, receiving an A or A+ in all of them. I am also a proficient coder in R and can help with code-based assignments for biostatistics.
MCAT

MCAT

I scored a 525 on the MCAT including perfect scores on the Chemistry/Physics and CARS sections. Since I am still a student I am up to date on all the latest resources and strategies for medical school studying. I have mentored many students through the med school application process including MCAT studying and seen them matriculate.
Psychology

Psychology

I have a PhD in neuroscience and lots of experience with data analysis including with publicly available datasets.
Spanish

Spanish

I took Spanish throughout middle, high school, and college, but despite reaching the most advance levels I was still frustrated with my progress and decided to self-study. This was very important to me because as a medical student many of my patients speak Spanish and crave communication in their native language. I can now say I have found the resources and study methods that helped me achieve professional proficiency, including doing psychotherapy in Spanish! I know what it is like to struggle with language and how to work past road blocks and am happy to help you on your Spanish journey.

Jeremy is a great tutor!

Jeremy was an amazing tutor who helped me a lot to prepare for the MCAT. He was very patient and understanding throughout all my questions and worked with me to develop a study plan and study mechanisms that were specific to me. He is very knowledgeable in all areas and explained any content I was struggling with in a way that was much easier to understand than how I had previously been taught. Before I found Wyzant, I was considering doing a tutor through Kaplan but ultimately decided to try this website and I am so glad I did!
