Hi! My name is Vasavi, and I am currently a medical student in NYC. I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Biological Sciences, along with minors in Chemistry and Sociology.
My tutoring journey began in high school, when I started working with students in advanced courses including AP Calculus BC, Chemistry, Biology, and Psychology. I continued tutoring throughout college and later served as an undergraduate teaching assistant for Molecular Biology Lab, Anatomy & Physiology, and Organic Chemistry. These experiences gave me the opportunity to work with students across a wide range of subjects and academic levels, from foundational coursework to challenging pre-med classes.
I specialize in standardized test preparation, including the SAT, ACT, and MCAT, and scored 520+ on the MCAT myself. I also tutor a broad range of STEM and pre-med coursework, including Algebra I & II, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus I & II, Statistics, Biology, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Physics.
My goal is to help students truly understand the material while building the skills and confidence to apply what they know when it matters, whether on a class exam or a standardized test. Whether a student is preparing for a major standardized exam, struggling with a difficult course, or hoping to strengthen their academic foundation, I tailor my teaching to their individual goals and learning style. Ultimately, I want students to become more confident, independent learners and develop study strategies they can continue using well beyond our sessions.
