Greetings! I am a seasoned and passionate Writing Tutor based in New York City. I love helping writers of all ages and educational backgrounds to meet their short-term writing goals while building greater confidence in their innate capacities.
I have a PhD in American Studies, an MA in Public Humanities, and an MA in History. I have published in both academic and popular outlets, and I currently serve as Content Editor for an online scholarly journal. I have also taught and served as Teaching Assistant at the college level in multiple Liberal Arts subjects, which affords me a window into common grading rubrics for written assignments in the humanities.
From 2022 until summer 2024, I served as a Writing Center Associate at my home university while completing my PhD. As an Associate, I helped students from across the university on writing assignments of every sort, from creative nonfiction to data science papers to medical school applications. Of course, I am not an expert in every genre or field, but in providing students my full attention, and bringing a spirit of curiosity to the work, I have found that the process is almost always fruitful. Many students have experienced small epiphanies during our sessions, and many have requested me for follow-up appointments. I believe my purpose is to help students unlock their full powers of expression while achieving specific benchmarks of success.
