I received the National Merit Finalist Scholarship with a PSAT score of 1500/1520. I have prepped students for the SHSAT for the past 5 years and joined Wyzant in October 2024.

Mentoring expertise: Tutor and Program Director for an SHSAT prep program for 4 years. Coach for Cosmic Writers, mentoring students looking to improve their fiction writing skills. Mentor and Chair for a program that helps incoming students transition to high school. NYU Welcome Leader and Residence Hall Office Assistant, building morale for and supporting new students.

English expertise: Reader for Flash Fiction Magazine, evaluating submissions for lit mag publication. Descriptive Copywriter for Jim Dandy Publishing, writing copy for marketing. Intern at Tessler Literary Agency, preparing manuscripts for submission to publishers. Published in multiple literary magazines.

For math, I guide students through Khan Academy for practice questions with my own unique input. This strengthens students' foundations before having students redo incorrectly answered questions. They are satisfied after seeing their growth within one lesson - students can now solve questions that they struggled with before!

For ELA, I teach "epiphanies": tangible realizations that consistently help accurately approach questions. There are tricks to "hack" reading and writing. I supplement this work by breaking down practice questions with a formulaic approach, applying poetry analysis strategies to prose. I am a firm believer in teaching essay and creative writing strategies early on; younger students can grasp college-level writing strategies too. I am also happy to mentor tutees in submitting their pieces to literary magazines.

I am pursuing a BS in Teaching English and a minor in Creative Writing at NYU. As a freshman I was accepted into the application-only Intensive Seminar in Poetry course, the highest-level class for poetry at the university. In high school I was Writing Center October 2023 Editor of the Month; took AP English Literature; was published in Caliper Literary Magazine; won April 2024 Writing on the Wall poetry contest prompt; and was 2024 inter-grade competition winning musical scriptwriter. I read for Flash Fiction Magazine to evaluate writing submissions. As a Cosmic Writers coach, I worked one-on-one with a middle school student to provide personalized feedback on their fiction novel-in-progress. I am pursuing a BS in Teaching English and a minor in Creative Writing at NYU. In high school I was Writing Center October 2023 Editor of the Month, and in college I have taken the courses Writing as Inquiry and Advanced College Essay. I read for Flash Fiction Magazine and have 5+ years in different organizations (test prep, creative writing coaching, editing) giving feedback to others about what constitutes good writing. I understand how to structure expository essays succinctly and how to use signposting to guide the flow.
