Over the past six years, I have been tutoring high school (Algebra I/II/III, AP Calculus) and college-level mathematics (Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, Abstract Algebra, Real Analysis, Vector Analysis, Combinatorics, Discrete Mathematics). I also co-founded an initiative to provide low-income secondary school students with free, online competitive mathematics classes over the summer. I designed the initiative's curriculum, tutored students, and graded assignments. Since the majority of my tutoring experience has been virtual, I am well-versed in making remote education informative and engaging.

I was also invited to teach an SAT® Math Bootcamp through Schoolhouse.world, where I am a certified SAT tutor. My personal SAT score was a 1570 (780/790), and I am a National Merit Commended Student.

As a rising junior at Yale University, I have gone through the US college process myself and understand how confusing and uncertain it can be! I have experience providing direction on supplemental essay topics, reading over supplemental essays and personal statements (NOT ghostwriting!), and providing insight on the general application (activities/honors sections, additional information, etc.).

CANCELATION/NO-SHOW POLICY:
Both my students and I can cancel lessons up to one hour in advance. If I cancel within one hour of the lesson, I will compensate the student with a free make-up session. Similarly, if I am late to a session, I will compensate the student with free make-up time.
If the student cancels within one hour of the lesson, I will charge the full amount. Lateness will not be accounted for in the price of the lesson. Lateness by over 30min. with no communication qualifies as a cancelation; I will do my best to remain in the lesson portal if the student shows up, but no guarantees.
Exceptions will be made for extenuating circumstances; I understand that life just happens sometimes!

Approved Subjects

AMC (Competition math)

AMC (Competition math)

I have been tutoring secondary school students in competitive mathematics specifically for the past four years, with a specific focus on the AMC 8 and 10. I have created original curricula for my AMC 8 students, as well as worked with the a plethora of AMC textbooks (AoPS, EGMO, Titu Andreescu books, etc.).
College Counseling

College Counseling

I have experience helping 9 high school and transfer students to present the best version of themselves throughout the college application process (these students have been accepted to Columbia, UPenn, Dartmouth, Stony Brook, Tufts, and Macaulay Honors, among others). This includes essay revision, application tips, and essay topic brainstorming. I applied to 24 schools myself and through my own experiences, tutoring others, and conferring with other college students have garnered various insights on which schools students should apply to (safety/target/reach breakdown, etc.) and how to appeal to certain schools' admissions committees (whether to form a narrative around being "well-rounded" vs. "spikey", what to emphasize in each field of each schools' application, etc.), especially when it comes to highly competitive American schools.
Discrete Math

Discrete Math

In my Junior year of high school, I completed Graph and Number Theory (95%, 97&, respectively). During my Senior year, I tutored students (a group of 5 most consistently came) in these subjects over my school's Discord server. In my first semester in college, I took Discrete Mathematics (MATH 224) and got a B-. Since then, I have taken more advanced courses, like Abstract Algebra (MATH 350; grade not released yet), that have further solidified my understanding of Discrete Mathematics.
Finite Math

Finite Math

I have completed the Yale Finite Math sequence, earning exceptional grades, and currently working a combinatorics internship. I have been tutoring students in combinatorics, number theory, and graph theory specifically for the past 5 years. I am very familiar with teaching from a variety of textbooks, including Rosen, Stanley, Sagan, Matoušek, etc.
Hebrew

Hebrew

I am a native modern Hebrew speaker. I have been serving as a Hebrew teaching assistant at my university, Yale, since last semester. This position has had me working 7 hours a week with students at a variety of skill levels, ranging from beginners to fluent speakers. I have been assisting with speaking, reading, and writing.
Real Analysis

Real Analysis

I took Real Analysis in Spring 2024, earning a B. Fall 2024, I successfully completed Vector Analysis on Differentiable Manifolds, which built off of the Real Analysis course. Since then, I have been helping underclassmen succeed in Real Analysis, guiding them through PSETs and in studying for exams.
Regents

Regents

I graduated high school with an NYS Advanced Regents Diploma. As part of this process, I completed Algebra I (97% on exam), Geometry (95% on exam), Algebra II (96% in class; COVID, no exam), Living Environment (98% in class; COVID, no exam), Chemistry (100% in class; COVID, no exam), Physics (COVID, no grade or exam. However, I have taken University-level physics), ELA (100% in AP class; COVID, no exam), Global History and Geography (99% in AP class; COVID, no exam), and US History and Government (98% in AP class; COVID, no exam). I have 3+ years of experience tutoring students for mathematics regents. In 11th grade, I would run daily office hours during my lunch break to help students struggling in their classes, and since 10th grade, I have been tutoring students over my high school's Discord server.
SHSAT (NY HS admissions)

SHSAT (NY HS admissions)

The diversity of coursework offered at Yale has prepared me, in terms of content, to teach SHSAT material. In terms of the exam structure, I have prepared students both for the SHSAT and the very similar SAT. I myself earned a 552 on the SAT 8 and a 592 on the SAT 9 (back in the day), both scores high enough for entry into the majority of specialized high schools.
