Hi, I’m Anisa! I graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. I’ve completed internships in Investment Banking at J.P. Morgan and I’m currently working in finance.

I have 5+ years of tutoring experience. I have spent my time at Brown working in various peer advising and tutoring organizations and I’ve completed internships at nonprofits focused on education.

At Brown, I was an Economics Peer Advisor where I worked with all college students in the economics department to provide mentoring and internship advice. I was an academic coach and worked with first year Brown students that were struggling with their studies. I helped them develop personalized study methods, be more confident in their work, and understand how to succeed with the skills they learned. I’ve worked with the Brown Refugee Youth Tutoring (BRYTE) where I worked 1:1 with a local high school senior that was not on track to graduate. She’s now successfully completed community college. I’ve also worked with a classroom of 15-20 elementary school kids during my time in the Brown Elementary Afterschool Mentoring (BEAM). I created lesson plans and helped individuals with homework problems.

Outside of Brown, I’ve worked with the Refugee Dream Center in Providence where I specialized in ESL and Project Rousseau, a nonprofit focused on working with children with an average household income of less than $12K to excel in higher education.

I’ve always understood the value of education and the way it can shape a child’s life. I’m committed to tutoring and mentorship within my personal and professional life. I have had great mentors throughout my life, and I understand the impact that they’ve had on my career. I would love the opportunity to work students and devise a plan that works for them.

I’m very flexible and open to meeting your individual tutoring needs. Please contact me with any questions or to schedule a lesson!
