Hello! I'm delighted to introduce myself as recent MD graduate and soon-to-be ophthalmology resident. With an extensive background in education and a passion for teaching, I'm eager to leverage my experiences to help students excel.

During my undergraduate tenure at Tufts University, I held the esteemed role of "Student Teacher Outreach" fellow. I developed and implemented weekly classes at a Boston public elementary school. As a chemistry major, my primary objective was to impart a fervent enthusiasm for the subject matter, leading me to craft a diverse array of captivating lesson plans. These included explorations such as "The Chemistry of Paint" and "Unveiling the Chemical Complexity of Baking". I found profound satisfaction in fostering the curiosity of young minds toward STEM disciplines.

Throughout my tenure in medical school at the Jacobs School of Medicine in Buffalo NY, I adeptly managed a rigorous schedule with extensive research commitments alongside active participation in extracurricular activities, all while maintaining consistently strong academic performance and test scores. I received AOA, Gold Humanism, research honors, and graduated cum laude. This balanced approach culminated in my successful match at my top-choice residency program.

While I recognize the idiosyncratic nature of each individual's career path, I have found great fulfillment in engaging in candid discussions with aspiring medical students, offering guidance tailored to their unique circumstances. Whether assisting in refining personal statements, providing tutoring for school-specific examinations, or offering unwavering support throughout the multifaceted stages of medical education, I derive satisfaction from contributing to the advancement of others. My own successful residency application process has equipped me with invaluable wisdom, and I'm eager to pay it forward by helping others navigate similar challenges.

Approved Subjects

MCAT

MCAT

I'm an MD graduate who took the MCAT successfully the year before applying to medical school (90th+ percentile). I've since helped multiple students prepare by creating study plans and/or tutoring specific areas of weakness (recognized by practice exams). I vividly remember the overwhelming stress I felt while preparing for the MCAT - and enjoy working with students to minimize that by addressing their specific concerns!
Proofreading

Proofreading

I love crafting personal statements that stand out - I received so many comments during residency applications about my personal statement discussing my love of watercolors and how they relate to surgery!
USMLE

USMLE

I'm a recent MD graduate who remembers the overwhelming process of embarking on the USMLE Step 1 (which I took P/F) and Step 2 exams. My Step 2 exam score (85th++ percentile) was key in helping me to match into a competitive surgical subspecialty residency. I enjoy creating study plans for other students as I remember thinking that was the most challenging (and overwhelming) part. After making sure a solid study plan is in place, I believe figuring out your weaknesses and addressing those via practice exams is incredibly high yield. I've enjoyed helping younger students with this process in the past and hope to continue!

Knowledgeable and patient

She was very kind and supportive, provided me with resources needed to succeed. Went through anki techniques, she showed me how to use it efficiently and waited for me to download it. She even helped me set up the decks and showed me how to use it efficient with uworld.

Incredibly helpful for MCAT and Med school applications

I have been meeting with Alexandra for a few months in preparation for the MCAT and I have seen huge difference in my performance since beginning lessons with her. She has been very knowledgeable about everything I have needed help with, mostly chem/physics/biochem, and is great at curating strategies that fit her student's needs. She has also been a huge help with revising my application essays and providing feedback when necessary. Navigating this application cycle was very difficult when going at it alone, which is why I am so grateful to have found Alexandra. She has been incredibly supportive and clearly cares that her students succeed, as she has gone above and beyond to help me throughout this process. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone studying for the MCAT or working on med school applications!

Kind, patient and knowleadgable

Alexandra has been helping me prepare for the MCAT. On this particular session, she assisted me in editing my personal statement and CV for grad school. Not only does she have the patience for her students, but she is also a terrific tutor with a broad range of knowledge geared towards exam preparation. With her help, I was able to submit my grad school application on time. I hope to continue working with her throughout my MCAT preparation and med school application process. If you are looking for a tutor who is brilliant and dedicated, with flexible hours, you can't go wrong with Alexandra.

Helpful, kind, and intelligent

Alexandra has been a great resource for me at the end of my third year of medical school. I have been struggling to find an efficient system for shelf exam studying and also have many questions about fourth year and she has been able to field everything I've thrown at her! Alexandra can tailor sessions around what you need as a student and asks good initial questions to best learn how she can help guide you. Definitely recommend!!

Best USMLE Step 1 tutor

Alexandra helped me improve my score by 15 points in just one session. She gave the best explanations of difficult concepts that had been tripping me up and helped me improve my test taking strategies. She was also extremely thorough, encouraging, and went above and beyond to provide me additional resources after our lesson!

Exceptionally Knowledgeable and Engaging

I have been looking for someone to review my medical school application and provide guidance to ensure I am meeting or exceeding all of the requirements. I have also been looking for a tutor to assist me with my MCAT prep and provide guidance with a study plan and coaching. I'm so relieved that I have finally found someone who can do both while being extremely reasonable with their rates. In just one session with Alexandra, I was given the reassurance I needed to know that I was on the right path towards acceptance into medical school. Her insights, stemming from her knowledge about the process from the applicant's point of view as well as from the admissions point of view, are truly invaluable. She put to rest many of the misconceptions I have had as a non-traditional applicant, and I'm now more motivated than before to continue with the process. Alexandra will also be assisting me with a study plan and content review for the MCAT, and I'm excited to get the process started with her. She was already able to provide tips that I will be incorporating into my daily study plans. I can't recommend Alexandra enough for someone going through this process, whether you are in the early stages and need guidance on what activities and courses to pursue, are late in the process and ready to submit your application, or need some help with the MCAT.
