Hi, my name is Nathan, and I am currently a senior at the University of Maryland studying computer science and statistics. I am excited to be able to share the knowledge I have acquired throughout my academic journey with others. Here is a small introduction to me and my past experience with tutoring:
Throughout my time in high school and college, I've not only excelled in my coursework but also dedicated myself to helping others succeed. In high school, I embraced the opportunity to tutor fellow students as part of an organization in our school library. I focused on a range of subjects, including AP Computer Science, Algebra, Precalculus, and Calculus. Additionally, during my senior year, I extended my tutoring expertise to help students prepare for the SAT Math section at Genie Academy, a local tutoring organization. These experiences provided me with invaluable insights into effective tutoring methods and strategies tailored to the unique needs of each student.
In college, I continued to contribute to the academic community as a teaching assistant for Object-Oriented Programming II and Introduction to Computer Systems. In this role, I facilitated class discussions, offered additional explanations on complex topics, and held one-on-one office hours to provide personalized assistance. Drawing from my tutoring experiences, I employed various teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and ensure that all students grasped the fundamental concepts.
Furthermore, my real-life experience as a software engineering intern at one of the biggest banks in the world has allowed me to deepen my understanding of industry practices while honing my technical skills.
