Hi! My name is Yuyu and I am a professional violinist and teacher in NYC! Previously, I taught violin and chamber music at Juilliard’s Music Advancement Program, and The 2023 Artists Program Chamber Music Festival. I am a graduate of the Juilliard School, where I earned my Masters certificate in violin performance.

  • Rate details: Violin: 100/hr, 80/45 mins (+up to $45 travel fee depending on location) Solfege and sight-singing: 75/hr (online only!) I have limited scholarships available!

I took 6 years of basic and advanced theory/ear training classes in conservatory. I can help you develop a better theoretical knowledge of music, help prepare for sight-reading or music theory tests, and overall just know your music more deeply. I do online lessons only, using screen share to go over material together!

I started teaching three years ago at Opportunity Music Project, where I met on zoom with students weekly to work on their solfege/sight-reading as well as their primary instrument. It was amazing to see how working on solfege/sight-reading skills can help instrument playing itself. Currently, I teach my own violin students solfege/sight-reading in a separate session from lessons.

I graduated from the The Juilliard School (MM 2023) and Oberlin Conservatory (BA 2021) with degrees in violin performance. I previously taught violin and chamber music at Juilliard's MAP program, and currently have 20+ students in Long Island and Manhattan! I have experience with all ages, from 3 years old to adult students!
