Hi, I'm Cynthia! I am originally from the Bay Area but currently reside in the great city of New York!
I graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Southern California with a degree in Business Administration - Finance. I spent 5 years in the video game industry leading finance operations for AAA titles, before moving into the cybersecurity space. Outside of my professional career, I am a huge history aficionado - my dad was an archaeologist, and he instilled a love of history and culture in me that remains to this day. I'm also a part time musician and writer, specializing in keyboard & freeform essays.
My collegiate academic experience was extremely enriching, and I think a huge reason for this was due to the quality of the academic staff. First, I appreciated how accessible they were during office hours, where I could get live feedback on projects I was working on or ask follow up questions. Second, I appreciated how tutors were able to change their teaching style in order to accommodate the learning preferences of each individual student. These are two fundamental values that I incorporate in my teaching. I will always seek to always go the extra mile for my students and love to simplify complex topics into easily digestible pieces for better learning.
I have had a lot of tutoring experience teaching both on an individual and group basis. In college, I volunteered my time as a part time tutor, working 1:1 with athletes and other students on topics such as economics, mathematics, history, and finance. I've also provided 1:1 resume reviews and interview prep for both new and first-year college grads in the workforce, essay reviews for prospective college students on both an undergrad/grad level, and also have experience in group settings running career development workshops for groups of 10-15 young professionals.
I am easy to reach and a fast responder, so please feel free to reach out with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson!
