Celia Wojcik, is an oboist from Haddonfield, New Jersey, currently studying at The Juilliard School under the tutelage of Nathan Hughes. She has performed in numerous prestigious venues such as Verizon Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC). Notably, Celia held the Principal Oboe position with the Philadelphia Sinfonia for three years, led the New Jersey All-State Orchestra and Wind Ensemble, and was a member of the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra, earning a nomination for the 2022 Union League Good Citizenship Award. In addition to being interviewed on the 90.1 WRTI radio station as a representative of the orchestra, she can also be heard playing oboe or english horn on the bi-annual radio broadcasts from Verizon Hall in Philadelphia.
Celia spent five transformative summers at Kinhaven Music School, where she cultivated a deep love for music. Immersed in a myriad of chamber, orchestral, and wind orchestra ensembles, a highlight for her was holding the Principal Oboe role for the orchestra's renditions of La Scala di Seta and Lutoslawski’s Concerto for Orchestra in 2023. Celia’s training includes private study under Philippe Tondre, principal oboist of the Philadelphia Orchestra, David Nuttall, former principal oboist of the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, as well as participation in masterclasses held by members of the Philadelphia Orchestra, by leading conductors, artists, and classical music educators. Celia is an Elaine Gloria Roepe scholarship recipient.
