Hi all! My name is Justin and I am excited work with you! To tell you a bit about myself, I'm originally from New Jersey and went to Duke where I majored in Neuroscience and minored in Biology and History. While at Duke, I graduated summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA and received early induction to the Phi Kappa Beta Honor Society as a Junior. Since then, I scored 98th percentile on the MCAT and matriculated to Harvard Medical School where I scored a 275 on Step 2 (99th percentile). I matched at Columbia for anesthesiology residency and am interested in pursuing a fellowship in cardiac anesthesia and critical care.

I've spent a significant amount of time teaching from high school through medical school. After tutoring extensively throughout high school, I went on to expand my experience as an undergraduate biology TA. In this role, I created didactics and ran review sessions in both genetics/evolution as well as cellular/molecular biology for entry-level biology students, and I came to appreciate the importance of attacking the same concept from multiple different angles to best serve a diverse group of students. In medical school, I was heavily involved in medical education and curriculum development. I have created educational videos, lessons, and laboratory experiences on the topics of neurology and surgical anatomy, and dissection.

I have experience and comfort working with students from middle school through college. Areas of expertise include cellular and molecular biology, genetics, evolution, physiology, inorganic chemistry, and standardized test prep (MCAT, Step 2). I also have experience helping review and improve students' applications to medical school and college, particularly college essays and personal statements. If you have a question as to whether or not I can help you with your particular needs, please do not hesitate to ask!

I look forward to meeting and working with you! Please reach out if you have any questions!

Genetics

Genetics

As an undergraduate, I worked with the Duke Biology department as a "Peer Facilitator," in which role I served as a TA for both the genetics/evolutionary biology students and the cellular/molecular biology students. In this role, I created my own lesson plans and taught review sessions for groups of 10+ students throughout the 3 semesters I served in this role. I have since continued to work with genetics, not only as a neuroscience major/biology minor but nearly daily as a medical student as well.
MCAT

MCAT

I have significant experience with the structure of MCAT preparation and exam taking, as well as tailoring your MCAT experience to your medical school application goals. I took the MCAT in 2020 which reflects the most recent changes to the exam, when I received a 521 (98th percentile). Since then, I have led multiple sessions on approach to MCAT questions as a medical student volunteer for pre-medical students in college.
USMLE

USMLE

I am a 4th year medical student at Harvard Medical School with a focus on medical education. As a student, I have passed the Step 1 licensing exam (now pass fail) and achieved a 275 on the Step 2 exam, a 99th percentile score. Since then, I have volunteered my time consulting other students on USMLE and Shelf exam content review and preparation. I am also significantly involved in medical education at Harvard Medical School, and have created course content related to neurology and anatomy.
