Essay writer and editor!

I am a twenty year old college student studying literature and journalism. I know, I am young. But don't let my age scare you! I have been writing and editing essays for friends and peers for as long as I can remember. I would sit at lunch in High School as my friends would pass me their laptops and I would get to work. I would ask them to share their papers with me on google drive and make me a "commenter." This allowed me to highlight and rearrange their paper while adding or taking out different lines without deleting their initial paper. They could then decide which edits they wanted to accept and which they did not. If a student had nothing to show for their assignment, I would sit down with them and the writing prompt and ask them a series of questions that would aid in compiling a strong Essay response. I also often helped to develop a thesis followed by an outline of what the student should be writing in each paragraph. The thesis would be on the top of the page followed by a list of bullet points under headings that said paragraph 1 and paragraph 2 etc.

I am also an avid reader! I study literature so the chances that I read the books that students are often assigned to write essays on are pretty high! I am also happy to read up on the literature the students are struggling with so I can better aid them.

I will also note that I am an older sister to three brothers with severe ADHD and two with dyslexia so I am familiar and sympathetic to students who need a bit more extra help. I am encouraging and supportive and I believe I will be able to give students a bit of confidence and reassurance in addition to my literary help. I genuinely enjoy writing (even school assigned essays) and I love to see the look on a students face when they read over an essay and are happy with their work! I hope Wyzant will give me the platform to do this!
