I hold a professional teaching license in chemistry in New York State. My current education in progress includes a Master of Education degree in Instructional Technology & Media from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Master of Science degree in Technology Management from Columbia University. I have tutored for over 5 years in various capacities in both math and science, and I have taught high school chemistry for the past 11 years. I work at Stuyvesant High School, currently ranked #36 in the top US public high schools. My methods consist of active questioning, where I will ask leading questions to help arrive at an answer, followed my immediate assessment after to monitoring learning, and student-centered approaches, where I use mnemonic devices, analogies, and other methods to help make chemistry memorable. Having refined my approaches over 11 years, I have learned to keep chemistry as simple and memorable as possible, in direct contrast to how I learned chemistry in college, as I want to make it accessible and memorable to all students.
