I am an experienced and qualified tutor that excels in Algebra 1. As someone who struggled in math in middle school and ultimately received a 780 on the SAT 2 Math exam, I have a strong understanding of Algebra and how to conquer students' doubts about the subject. In college, I was a teaching assistant for a sixth-grade math classroom, gaining invaluable knowledge on how to structure lessons and materials to support any student.

American History

I recently graduated from UPenn with a Philosophy, Politics, and Economics degree. As a native of Philadelphia, the birthplace of the American Nation, I am passionate about the United States and its history! I received a 5 on the APUSH exam and had a prior internship with the National Constitution Center. I would love to share my love and knowledge of American History!

Elementary (K-6th)

With a minor in Urban Education and extensive internship experience in lesson planning and curriculum organization, I excel as an Elementary school tutor. My specific Elementary experiences include being a teaching assistant in a sixth-grade math classroom, a summer camp counselor for Philadelphia youth, and a volunteer at my local youth orchestra. Beyond this, I have tutored numerous middle school and high school students in a variety of formats, including in math, English, career exploration, and research. I have a multi-disciplinary educational and extracurricular background that led me to become an excellent and effective educator. I am passionate about helping students unlock their full potential and fostering a love for learning. Music History

I recently graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a minor in Music. My passion for playing the violin drove me to explore the vast world of music history. I have taken multiple courses in this subject, including 1000 Years of Music, Theories of Popular Music, and the History of African American Music.

Violin

I am a violin player with 15+ years of experience, having played in various youth orchestras, including UPenn's Symphony Orchestra. I served as a private violin tutor and practice instructor for numerous young violinists, providing guidance on repertoire and practice techniques. I volunteered for 3 years with my local middle-school youth orchestra, where I led sectionals and provided individual support to struggling students. Through my experience as both a violinist and a tutor, I have come to recognize the importance of regular practice and the value of having a mentor. I am extremely patient and thorough with explaining concepts, and have extensive experience in online tutoring!

Writing

Throughout my college journey, I had the opportunity to tutor many middle and high school students with their writing. I have a knack for guiding students through the entire writing process, from generating ideas to polishing their final drafts. As a humanities student, I've become proficient in writing different types of pieces, such as research papers. In fact, I even served as the president of a popular online women's publication at my university and worked for the school newspaper, gaining valuable experience in effective and engaging writing.
