I'm Meryem and an alumni of UC San Diego, where I graduated with Highest Distinction Honors in English Literature and Writing. While there, I concentrated my studies in film analysis, literary criticism, and served as the Co Editor-in-Chief of the Undergraduate Research Journal CIRCUIT. I currently study at the Columbia University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS), where I am pursuing a Master's in Human Rights with respect to Information Policy and the intersection of technology and human rights.
My expertise lies most prominently in literary analysis, film analysis, and academic and creative writing. I was the 2018 Gold Medal recipient of the Arts and Writing Award at Scholastic, and have been published in the likes of O(the)r People Magazine and Meridyen. Additionally, I've previously volunteered as an Advanced English Tutor for asylum seekers in Southern California, which was funded by the Ellii ESL Library.
