My educational experience includes a MS in Mechanical Engineering as well as an MBA from University of New Mexico (GPA: 3.83). I continue to study higher level Math, including Calculus, Statistics, Linear Algebra, Ordinary Differential Equations, Partial Differential Equations, and Differential Geometry. While at Columbia University studying Physics (GPA: 3.6), I published two peer-reviewed papers in Astrophysics in Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.

As the “go-to” person for helping fellow classmates with homework, given my patience and ability to breakdown complex concepts into easily digestible steps, I was asked to lead study groups to help my peers work through materials that were being tested in homework assignments. It was rewarding to see my peers work through problems, concepts, and equations after I took the time and care to explain the individual steps, supporting their learning process, and ultimately seeing them excel in class. Additionally, my colleagues found it very satisfying to see the various angles that can be used to arrive at the correct answer. Learning to master various approaches to a problem shows true understanding of the subject.

My approach to tutoring is rooted in fundamentals. For any concepts you don’t understand, we will go as far back to basics as necessary to build a solid foundation (and confidence) from which to work. Also, since much of mathematics and physics up to at least the intermediate college level can be understood with real-world examples, one of the approaches I like to use to foster an intuitive grasp of the material, is to frame problems taken from familiar everyday life.

I encourage you to explain the approaches used in our work to solidify your understanding and to identify and work through your challenges. Just as important, I like to foster an environment where you feel encouraged to take risks and not worry about making mistakes during our sessions, with the goal of building ease, confidence, and independence in your process.

Algebra 1

I have an MS in Mechanical Engineering and have studied college Mathematics at the Junior/Senior level. Algebra 1 and 2 are fundamental topics that underlie the rest of the mathematics curriculum. I really enjoy tutoring it to students so that they have a foundation under them with which to advance to higher levels of mathematics
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

Mathematics at the Junior/Senior level. Algebra 1 and 2 are fundamental topics that underlie the rest of the mathematics curriculum. I really enjoy teaching it to students so that they have a foundation under them with which to advance to higher levels of mathematics.
Calculus

Calculus

I've loved studying and doing Calculus problems ever since getting straight A's in all my Calc courses. It is the cornerstone to higher-level mathematics, and I would love to pass on my knowledge of the subject to you!
Physics

Physics

I studied Physics at Columbia University, and wrote two peer-reviewed articles in Astrophysics that were published in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Academic Society. I love teaching all levels of Physics!
Precalculus

Precalculus

I have an MS in Mechanical Engineering and have studied college Mathematics at the Junior/Senior level. Pre-calculus and Calculus have always been my favorite subject in Math and received straight A's every semester of taking them. I would love to pass that knowledge on to you, as Calculus is crucial in so many disciplines of science and engineering.
SAT Math

SAT Math

My penchant for mathematics has followed me from childhood to today. I would love to pass that knowledge and enthusiasm to you too. SAT Math is a favorite topic of mine, as it's like a puzzle to be solved!
