Hello all, my name is Kenny. I'm a Afro-Taino art teacher that has experience in art tutoring from my past experiences with students. I successfully home schooled classes of Art and English in my hometown of Dominican Republic for 6 months in 2012 (students ranging from 10-17) and have a lived experience of autodidactic (self taught) art knowledge of over 20 years and going that I'm excited to teach those willing to learn. I've taught friends and family and blend what I've learned public schools lack and have tried to craft something relevant to students who find this teaching style compatible to their needs. I don't have any degrees, and all if not most of my knowledge comes from lived experience drawing and reading books on art. I believe artists are made from environments of understanding, coexistence and patience not bureaucracy and competitions so my art tends to be for the person who wants to sense nature more realistically. As with life drawing classes which is what this essentially is, you'll be learning how to capture the realism in life through traditional drawing tools like the classic 2b pencil and it's differing pressures or drafting pencils for realistic concept art ideas. We'll be drawing from live models of objects and depending on live human model availability we'll also cover human anatomy and natural environments to understand their dynamics which include lighting and composition ( we'll also cover this in great detail from a film and interior design perspective).
My methodology of teaching styles ranges from student needs so I tend to teach depending on the required environment and what part of the lesson we're in. So for instance if possible we'd draw live trees and rocks to practice life drawing forms but if the student is allergic then we can pick out reference shots to study from instead and pair this with in home controlled lighting to the context of the specific lesson (the classic vegetables in a bowl really work to this extent).
