I graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in Political Science and English. I then received a master's of fine arts in writing at UC Irvine, where I spent three years as an Instructor of English Composition for undergraduates at the university. Currently, I teach English and History at a private high school. Before becoming a formal university instructor, I tutored with programs such as America Reads and Reading Partners. Unofficially, I helped many peers throughout university and beforehand prepare their writing skills for internships, programs, graduate schools, and colleges, and I have always seen success in that regard. I care about tutoring because I truly believe that my best teachers were the people I could most credit for finding love and talent for critical literacy skills and writing.
As an instructor, it is essential to see each learner as an individual with individual experiences and ways of thinking. I think that is the first step to developing a learning plan that will suit the goals and strengths of each student. I understand this on a deep level, not just because I teach at the university level, but because I'm still a student myself.
