High School Chemistry Teacher and Tutor

Hi! My name is Steven and I'm a tutor specializing in high school level chemistry. Before beginning with how I got here, let me tell you about where it all started. It's the year 2010 and I just started my freshman year of high school. I love school, but there's one thing I always hated... science and the older I got, the more I seemed to dislike it. Don't ask me why, but I guess I just never had a teacher who helped bring the subject to life. What I didn't know was that that was all about to change. Fast forward to my sophomore year and my Earth Science teacher changed that completely. She was passionate about the subject and made it fun, but more importantly, she noticed something in me. She noticed that my talent lied within my least favorite subject. She believed in me in a way that no other teacher had before and that changed my life forever. I began to look at science differently and for the first time ever, I looked forward to going to science class. The following year I took chemistry as a junior followed by AP Chemistry my senior year. From there I even went on to earn my B.S. in Biology/Biotechnology from Endicott College where I graduated summa cum laude with a 3.99 GPA.

During my time at Endicott, I tutored a lot of my peers in chemistry and LOVED it which is in part what led me to attend SUNY New Paltz for my MAT in Secondary Education where I graduated with a 4.0 GPA, an additional 14 credits in chemistry, and certifications in both Biology and Chemistry for Grades 7-12. Now in my 6th year of teaching high school chemistry (11th grade), I have professional certifications in both. Furthermore, I have spent the last 6 years outside of school privately tutoring chemistry in my spare time where I provide my clients with the scaffolded instruction necessary to pass, master, and enjoy chemistry.
