Bio

I graduated from Drexel with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in CS. Most of what I use day-to-day I picked up outside of class through internships in machine learning and software, working with real problems instead of textbook ones.

I graduated from Drexel with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in CS. Most of what I use day-to-day I picked up outside of class through internships in machine learning and software, working with real problems instead of textbook ones.

Right now I work in Insurance. Before that, I was in ML and software roles, giving me a wide range of experience. I tutor Math (Algebra through Calculus), Physics, and Computer Science/Programming (Python, intro CS, data structures), and I try to tie the material back to how it's actually used instead of teaching it as an abstract exercise.

Growing up, I played competitive tennis in Hong Kong, and I still play regularly. I also coached younger kids over a few summers, which taught me a lot about patience and breaking things down for someone who's stuck- the same mindset I use in tutoring.

I care more about a student actually understanding the material than memorising steps for one type of problem. I'm responsive, I'll answer honestly if something isn't clicking, and I'll tell you what it'll actually take to get better.

I've been playing tennis my whole life and played club competitive tennis through college. That gave me a real foundation in both the technical stuff, like stroke mechanics, footwork, and court positioning, and the strategic side of actually winning points instead of just rallying. I've also coached younger kids during summers, so I know how to break the game down simply for beginners without making it boring or overwhelming, and how to push more advanced players on specific things they're trying to improve. I like meeting a student where they're at, whether that means starting with the basics or working on strategy and consistency for someone who's already competing.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

Rushi was a great tutor for my son, who was struggling with high school Algebra 2. After an entire year of online classes, my son really needed that one on one that a tutor provides. Luckily, we found Rushi on this site. Rushi was patient and thorough in his instruction. Since the sessions with Rushi, my son's grades have improved and he is now confident about Algebra 2. So Lucky I Found Him

Rushi is an excellent tutor, something I discovered within the first 5 minutes of working with him. I rely on Google Sheets for work and was stuck on how to perform some very specific and sophisticated functions.
