Hello folks! I graduated Brandeis University in May 2024 with majors in biology and HSSP (Health: Science, Society, and Policy), and I am currently pursuing a masters degree at Sarah Lawrence College to ultimately become a genetic counselor! I have had experience in tutoring, both formally and informally, a variety of subjects including math up to algebra II (useful for SAT and ACT), French, genetics, chemistry, and music (basic theory, ear training, and percussion performance). I have worked with students as young as third grade and as old as adults, as I believe everybody deserves the opportunity to learn!
I am honored to have served as a supplemental instruction (SI) leader and mentor for the Brandeis general chemistry class, in which I helped students grasp the curriculum by creating my own review games and practice problems. I feel it is essential to not merely have students regurgitate information, but to become their own best self-advocates for their learning and critical thinking, thus taking into account how students' backgrounds shape their abilities to comprehend the material and ultimately become leaders. I hope that my tutees will come away from our sessions feeling empowered and confident that they have the potential to make a difference in the learning of both themselves and others.
