I have a bachelor's degree in creative writing from Empire State University. I have worked for two education technology companies as a writing and English tutor. Also, I have completed two education technology company training courses. I have experienced tutoring students at the K-12 and college level. Additionally, I have also worked as a writer and editor for publications where my work has been published. Professional experience that qualifies me to work as an English and writing tutor including working as an English and writing tutor at Link Systems International and Pear Deck Tutor. There I have tutored mostly undergraduate college and grades k-12. I have also worked as an English and writing tutor on Outschool for grades K-12.

I patiently work with students one on one. I identify what skill or part of an assignment the learner needs to work on. Then I create a step-by-step learning plan to accomplish the learner's goals for the session. Anything related to writing that the learner needs to work on will be covered in the session. For academic writing that includes essays, grammar, sentence structure, and works cited. And for creative writing that includes short stories, poetry, and revision.

My teaching method is influenced by the Socratic Method. I use the Socratic Method to identify what is causing the main issue the learner is having with their written work. I find asking the learner questions is key to understanding the best way to help them in a way that meets their needs. I always encouraged students to bring a writing assignment or something they are having difficulty with to the session. I constantly adjust my tutoring method to meet the needs of the learned throughout the session.
