As the needs of the students within my school changed, the subject taught changed through the years. For the past five years now, I have specialized in addressing reading issues, particularly dyslexia and other language learning challenges. I am a Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner as well as an Orton-Gillingham trained teacher.
My teaching approach is student-centered, evidence-based, and focused on fostering a love of learning. I believe in using multisensory techniques, structured literacy approaches, and personalized instruction to support students with dyslexia and other reading difficulties. My goal is to empower students to become confident, independent readers and learners by providing them with the tools and strategies they need to succeed.
Some of the ways I can help may include: phonics and decoding instruction, fluency development, vocabulary building, and homework help and academic support. Individualized tutoring sessions are tailored to each student's unique needs.
