Hello! My name is Christo, and I am currently a fourth-year medical student. I have worked as a tutor for the past few years, primarily assisting high school and middle school students with varying levels of math as well as Chemistry and Biology. Hello! My name is Christo, and I am currently a fourth-year medical student. I have worked as a tutor for the past few years, primarily assisting high school and middle school students with varying levels of math as well as Chemistry and Biology. I have experience with one-on-one tutoring sessions both in-person and online, so I have the ability to adapt according to the student’s priorities.
During the first session, I will focus primarily on outlining the expected goals and outcomes for the tutoring sessions. I will also request that the student and their parents present some background information in order to examine the student’s strengths and weaknesses. With open and clear communication, we can start working toward the student’s success. I usually recommend 1-1.5 hour sessions as best for the student. However, if there is an urgent need for tutoring for a certain subject on a close deadline for an exam, I will sometimes recommend 2 hours if necessary. I will supplement the tutoring sessions with visual aids, such as helpful guides, diagrams, and videos, to ensure that the student remains engaged with the material. I also place emphasis on the student completing sufficient practice problems, until they feel comfortable teaching the concepts themselves
I understand that sometimes it is difficult for the student to balance their school and extracurriculars, especially within these uncertain times. Therefore, I am here to be flexible to the student’s needs by helping them in any way possible. I look forward to providing them assistance and I will always appreciate any input from the student and their parents. I can be reached either by phone or email, so feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson!
