I am a psychology major with a biology minor on a pre–physician assistant track, and my academic background is strongly STEM-focused. Through my coursework in biology, chemistry, physics, anatomy, and biochemistry, I have built a solid understanding of challenging scientific material and how to approach it thoughtfully. Being on a demanding pre-health track has also given me the opportunity to mentor peers pursuing similar paths, and I genuinely enjoy helping others feel less overwhelmed and more capable when facing difficult coursework.
I have over five years of tutoring and teaching experience working with students of all ages in a variety of settings, ranging from one-on-one sessions to small groups and large lecture environments of over 100 students. My specialty is chemistry, where I previously worked as a Chemistry Learning Assistant and learned how to explain complex topics in clear, approachable ways. In addition, I have tutored elementary school students in math, reading, and writing, and I have extensive experience working with students with special needs. As a group leader at a special needs day camp, I learned the importance of patience, flexibility, and meeting each student exactly where they are.
What truly motivates me as a tutor is my ability to connect with students on a personal level. I understand how frustrating and discouraging it can feel to not immediately grasp a concept, and I make it a priority to create a supportive, judgment-free space where students feel comfortable asking questions. I bring warmth, encouragement, and genuine care into every session, and I work closely with students to help them build confidence in their learning abilities. My goal is not only to help students succeed academically, but to help them feel proud of their progress and excited about learning.
