I have loved to teach and help others ever since I was little. I've also had the opportunity to do just that for almost all of my life. My father ran a Tae Kwon Do studio, and being his son I was there often. I have loved to teach and help others ever since I was little. I've also had the opportunity to do just that for almost all of my life. My father ran a Tae Kwon Do studio, and being his son I was there often. Whether I was taking a class myself, or teaching a group of students, I always made sure that the people and students around me understood and excelled at the martial art just as I did. That's where I learned that I had a love for teaching. Because of my father's Tae Kwon Do school, I have had the opportunity to teach students from ages 3 to adults for over 5 years now.
As well as having an amazing Martial Arts skills, I loved math in school. I was placed in accelerated classes since Middle School, and always performed really well in them. Math was something I felt connected to and understood very well. I also was always able to find joy and a passion for math.
Having both a love for teaching and math, I decided to put them together. Over the past two summers I have helped tutor my two younger brothers, and a high school students in math subjects such as Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calc and even Calculus. I have also helped several of my friends at college through their business-calc courses. Through all those sessions I have only gotten very good feedback from parents and the students themselves, with many of them saying that they understood the math better when I explained it over when their own math teachers does.
Overall, I have both a natural drive and passion to help others around me and make the world around me better understand and maybe even love math and other subjects that I excel at (such as Piano, Music, Microsoft Excel, and U.S. History) a little more than they used to.
