I have over 5 years experience with these important Construction/Architecture/Engineering softwares. AutoCAD although becoming obsolete in some firms still makes an awesome core software for the AutoDesk suite. Mechanical drawings, shop drawings, and survey plots can all be utilized with this amazing software.

Sketchup is my fundamental program. I started using this about 8 years ago and It is one of the most amazing 3d modeling softwares in my perspective. I will show you utilizing the ribbon, exact dimensioning, utilizing scaled drawings, adding useful extensions. This software has a mild learning curve but the potential is somewhat unlimited. Current updates ensures the program is only getting better, and ease of use is increasing.
