Hi all! I'm Jenab, a Barnard College alumna with a major in Neuroscience and Behavior and a minor in Science and Public Policy. My academic journey has been shaped by exceptional educators who instilled in me a passion for learning and teaching.
During college, I served as a science TA and head advisor for middle schoolers in Prep for Prep, a program I had the privilege of attending. I also tutored high school students in geometry and algebra at the Columbia Tutoring and Learning Center, assisted in a Neuroanatomy course, and worked as a peer educator with Barnard's Wellness Spot and a health educator for 9th graders with Columbia's S-HEAL.
After graduating, I attended the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education, where I earned my Pennsylvania Secondary Science Instructional Certification through their Urban Teaching Residency. I taught Biology and Anatomy and Physiology, working with hundreds of students with diverse learning styles and starting levels. I've had the privilege of watching them learn while having fun, make connections between various topics and the broader context of the world, and far exceed their expected growth and score ranges.
While I've enjoyed the broader classroom experience, I have stepped back as I apply to med school and am eager to focus on one-on-one tutoring to address individual student needs. If you're seeking assistance in biological sciences (e.g., biology, biochemistry, neuroscience, anatomy and physiology), Algebra, Geometry, or test preparation (e.g., PSAT, SAT—I scored in the 98th percentile), feel free to reach out. I'm committed to providing prompt responses and addressing any questions or concerns as I embark on my tutoring journey here at Wyzant.
