Hello there! My name is Paul M. and I am Certified Academic Instructor (CAS) who specializes in High School level math (pre-algebra to pre-calc) and test preparation for the SAT/ACT college entrance exams. Even though my focus is in High School students, I also have hands-on experience in elementary and middle school teaching through working as a substitute teacher (per diem) in Long Island school districts.
My experience in teaching/tutoring started in High School where I was President of the National Honor Society (NHS). There, I was required to complete 100 hours of peer tutoring to students who were falling behind academically. It wasn't until I began college where I discovered my passion for teaching Math. In four years, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Queens College, CUNY and was offered a full scholarship to study Higher Math Education at Hunter College, CUNY. Now that I have graduated grad school, I've been offered a per diem teaching position through the NYS Board of Education. While my hope is to one day land the position of High School teacher, I want to make an impact on student's NOW, which is why I got into private tutoring.
