While working on my college degree, I learned extensive strategies for teaching and planning lessons, which has helped me become an effective tutor. One of my most effective methods for instruction is to have a brief consultation with my student, where we discuss prior knowledge, learning style, and I then design their lessons based on that information. I also take student feedback into account, making changes to lessons if it is not working.
Beyond private tutoring experience, I am also a certified math teacher, and currently teach middle school. I completed 100 hours of undergraduate fieldwork, observing and assisting in middle and high school classrooms. I also completed a semester of full time student teaching in a 9th grade Algebra 1 classroom. I am prepared to teach any age and topic in mathematics, especially Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and SAT prep.
