I am Xiaobing, I obtained MS degree in neuropharmacology and PhD in neurobiology from University of Science and Technology of China, #71 ranking in the U.S. News & World Report Best Global Universities 2025, and a #53 ranking in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025. I moved to the United States in 2009 for my postdoctoral studies at University of Chicago and Yale University. Then worked at Florida State University and Rutgers University as a neuroscience professor and a principal investigator.
I have rich experience in teaching both undergraduate and graduate students in neuroscience. I have strong expertise in cell, circuitry, and behavioral neuroscience. My research interest is focused on neurophysiology and neural circuits for motivated behaviors. I have published my research findings in top world-ranked journals, including Science, Cell, and Nature Neuroscience. Many of my research findings were reported by the news media and magazines such as NBC News and Scientific American.
Both my teaching and research experience, including large (over 70 students) and small classroom (5-10 students), one-to-one mentoring) prepared me as a great neuroscience tutor. Also, I am excellent in high-school math and I am very interested in math teaching. I have studied digital SAT for more than 1 year. I am eager to tutor students ACT and SAT math with my skilled learned from both Chinese and American education system.
