As a writer, a teacher, and a professor, I love helping others find the delight and wonder which I experience.
I began teaching in 2009 and I have taught hundreds of students all over the world. I have read with them and to them and helped to show that problems which they felt were impossible can be solved after all. Yes, we can improve your ability to communicate and to understand. Yes, we can all learn to love stories and discovering their meaning.

My undergraduate degree was from Bard College, where I earned a multidisciplinary degree in Philosophy and Creative Writing. I earned a 100-hour ESL teaching certification from L C Consulting at UCLA, Then an MFA in Creative Writing - Speculative Fiction from Sarah Lawrence. I currently teach College Writing, Junior Seminar, and Critical Inquiry at Mercy College, Montclair State, and Seton Hall. I have tutored all subjects of the SAT and ACT for more than a decade in person and online. Varsity Tutors shows me as holding a 4.8/5.0 stars client satisfaction rating after hundreds of students.
I authored and published The Secrets of English Pronunciation for Koreans, which is available for purchase on Amazon, in which I detail my ESL techniques gained over five years of teaching.
As an author, I have also written over a dozen science fiction, fantasy, and horror novels which can be found for purchase on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and wherever you buy books online. On my website, I have interviewed almost a hundred published authors about their craft. If you need help with reading or writing, I am unusually qualified to help.
I try to be flexible with time. While I do require 24 hours notice to cancel a class, I do offer make-up classes when scheduled in advance.
