I am an elementary paraprofessional who works daily with kindergarten and first grade students in a public school setting. In my role, I support early literacy and math instruction, provide small group intervention, and work one-on-one with students who need additional support. I have completed district training in reading instruction and intervention practices, and I collaborate closely with classroom teachers to reinforce phonics, sight word recognition, fluency, and foundational math skills. Working in both whole-class and small-group environments has given me a strong understanding of how young learners develop academic confidence.
Over the past several years, I have supported students ages five to seven in classroom, intervention, and individualized settings. Much of my experience focuses on helping beginning readers master letter sounds, blending, decoding, and fluency. I regularly assist students who need extra time, repetition, and encouragement to build solid foundations. Because I work closely with early elementary learners every day, I understand common reading challenges and how to break skills into manageable, achievable steps.
My tutoring approach is patient, structured, and encouraging. I believe young students learn best when sessions are engaging, predictable, and confidence-building. I use explicit instruction, guided practice, and interactive activities to help students strengthen skills while feeling successful. My goal is not only academic growth but also helping children feel proud of their progress and more confident as learners.
