Hi, I'm Evan! I'm a Brown University graduate and Stuyvesant High School Alum. Hi, I'm Evan! I'm a Brown University graduate and Stuyvesant High School Alum. I graduated Brown with a BS and MS in Computer Science, but while in college I took advance Economics and Biology courses and learned to really appreciate those subjects. Through amazing peers and professors, I discovered how much genuine enthusiasm and clear explanations can change the way you feel about a subject. I strive to be that person for my students.
I’ve tutored SAT/ACT 1-on-1 for about a year, and I’ve also taught computer science to a group of 20 middle and high school students. In both settings, I make sure students get the extra support they need and I tailor lessons to each student’s goals, pace, and learning style.
My approach is structured but flexible. I start with a diagnostic to identify strengths and areas for improvement, then build a targeted plan to help students understand difficult concepts and apply them through strategy work, focused drills, and timed practice to improve accuracy and speed.
I tutor in Queens and Manhattan, and I’m also happy to work online.
If you’re interested, tell me your goals (test date/class), your current level, and what days/times work best and we’ll set up a first session.
