Ciao, I am Caterina! I am an Italian art historian who lives in New York. I earned an Advanced degree in Lettere Moderne at the University of Perugia (Italy) specializing in Art History. I have also earned a degree in Frescoes and Mural Paintings Conservation at Palazzo Spinelli in Florence.
I have almost 10 years of experience as an art conservator in some of the most beautiful sites in Florence, Siena and Umbria. I have been a teaching assistant during those same years. I have moved to the States with my family and started teaching Italian to my little boy. I have been working for 5 years as a fashion designer for a cashmere sweater company. In the summer I usually go to Italy where I have been tutoring for English speakers and for Italians too, for students and for teachers.
I start teaching from conversation and adapt the lesson to the student’s age, need and experience. I love to use material from Literature, Art, Music, Traditions, etc. I empathize very much which helps me further customize the teaching experience.
I am a very creative person. I love reading and writing, painting and drawing, cooking and music. In this moment of my life I must confess a passion for the Italian Middle Ages and for Dante!
I believe that Language is essential to everyone’s identity and love to guide people through this revealing experience.
